Stop maximizing windows by hand.

Phil is a tiny macOS menu-bar app that keeps your app windows filled to the screen, and leaves the ones you've deliberately snapped alone.

Always maximized

New windows fill the screen on launch, and stay filled as you work, pixel-perfect.

Respects your snaps

Snap a window to half, a quarter, or a third and Phil leaves it, however you snapped it.

Out of the way

Lives in the menu bar, sips no CPU, runs at login. Pause or exclude any app anytime.

Every display

Each window fills the screen it's actually on. Drift a maximized window and it snaps back.

How it works

Maximize by default, except what you've clearly arranged. When you drag, keyboard-snap, or use the green-button menu to put a window at a tiling zone, Phil recognizes the geometry and stays hands-off. Bring it back toward full and Phil takes over again. Grant Accessibility once on first launch. That's all it needs.
